Caribbean Basin Agricultural Office, United States Department of Agriculture

Through its Caribbean Basin Agricultural Trade Office (CBATO), the United States Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service helps connect Tobagonian importers and U.S. food and beverage exporters.  With its on-line database of U.S. suppliers, list of distribution companies, list of Florida and Other US Exporters Active in the Caribbean, schedule of food and beverage trade shows, foreign buyer registration program, export credit guarantee program and targeted training programs, such as the Cochran Fellowship Program, CBATO provides the information and resources that Tobagonian importers need to identify products and make informed purchasing decisions.

CBATO also assists U.S. exporters seeking to cultivate new markets abroad.  It provides U.S. exporters with market intelligence reports as well as detailed information on foreign agricultural import requirements to help them identify promising international markets.  When U.S.  exporters have specific geographic markets in mind, CBATO can help them identify credible leads through the foreign buyer registration program.
